The error The Reporting Server Instance could not be found is appearing when I attempt to connect to a newly installed SQL Server Reporting Services Instance .
The service is appearing as started , but then when I attempt to connect The Reporting Server Instance could not be found
How can I troubleshoot this error message?
Answer: The error message The Reporting Server Instance could not be found occurs mainly when the SSRS configuration has not completed. Or the configuration has completed - but for some reason some errors have occurred
You will need to use the Reporting Services Configuration Tool . To access the Configuration Tool , follow this access path. You can also go straight to the file for example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Tools\Binn\RSConfigTool"
Check web services identity and the windows service identity. You may also confirm you’ve set up a Web services url. By fixing these problems , it is likely you will be able to connect.
Also check for any other Errors appearing on the Configuration tool
